Bitcoin checkout

Checkout prices are stated in United States dollars. BTCPay Server calculates the Bitcoin amount for a time-limited invoice using its configured exchange-rate source. The invoice, not a screenshot or earlier quote, controls the exact address, network, amount, and expiration time for that payment.

Verify before sending

Use the Bitcoin network and send exactly the amount shown to the address in the live invoice. Verify the address and amount in your own wallet before approving the transaction. Do not send through another blockchain, to an expired or copied address from an unrelated order, or in response to an unsolicited message. We will never ask for a seed phrase or private key.

Irreversibility, fees, and confirmations

Bitcoin transfers are generally irreversible. You are responsible for wallet, exchange, miner, withdrawal, and network fees and for using compatible software. A broadcast transaction does not immediately mean an order is paid. The order is accepted for fulfillment only after BTCPay reports the invoice settled under the store's confirmation settings.

Expired, partial, late, or excess payments

An unpaid invoice may expire. Create a new checkout instead of paying an expired invoice. Partial, late, duplicate, or overpayments may require manual review and may delay fulfillment. A blockchain transaction cannot simply be canceled. Contact the seller through the authenticated order page and provide the order number and transaction identifier; never provide wallet secrets.

Refunds

An approved Bitcoin refund requires a fresh, customer-controlled Bitcoin address and may require identity or order verification. Verify the refund address carefully. The Bitcoin amount of a refund may be calculated from the approved United States dollar refund value at the exchange rate used when the refund is processed, rather than the original Bitcoin amount. Network fees and exchange-rate changes may affect the amount received where allowed by law.

The seller will not send a refund to an address supplied only through an unauthenticated message. Funds sent to an incorrect address supplied by the customer may be unrecoverable.

No custody or investment service

The store accepts Bitcoin only as payment for goods. It does not provide a wallet, custody, exchange, brokerage, investment, money-transmission, or tax-advice service. You remain responsible for your wallet security, records, and any legal or tax obligations.

Compliance and contact

Orders may be declined, held, or refunded when reasonably necessary for sanctions, fraud, legal, or security review. Use the authenticated account or order page for payment support. Before launch, the seller should add a support email and confirm the refund calculation, confirmation threshold, and exception-handling process with counsel.
